    The Chroma Collective traveled to Bozeman, MT in April for a short residency at Montana State University! The residency included multiple workshops with various classes, individual lessons with students, and a main collaborative event open to the public.

  • Chroma Travels to NC to work with Classical Conversations

    September 19, 2024 - Hickory, North Carolina

    The Chroma Collective traveled to Hickory, NC in September to work with the Classical Conversations Homeschool Group at Mt. Ruhama Baptist Church. Due to hurricane Helene, Chroma had to postpone planned events with Lenoir Rhyne University and the Hickory Museum of Art, but are looking forward to returning to Hickory in the future!

  • Chroma Participates in the Arts in Gap Summer Workshops

    June 8-9, 2024 - Harrogate, Tennessee

    The Chroma Collective journeyed back to Harrogate for the second time to participate in the Arts in the Gap Summer Workshop Programs! Chroma met with 2 groups of kids for two consecutive days of art and music making. Group participants got to learn about the intersections of art and music, create their own stories, and hear those stories come to life as musical improvisations!

  • Any Given Child - Shenandoah Valley 3 Day Residency

    October 23-25, 2023 - Harrisonburg, Virginia

    …”Chroma Collective spent time with students in both Keister and Stone Spring Elementary as part of an HCPS arts integration residency, blending visual arts with music making in a participatory, hands-on experience. The trio helped students explore the intersection of visual art concepts - line, color, movement, story - with music concepts and performance.”

  • Chroma Performs at Lincoln Memorial University

    February 20th, 2023 - Harrogate, Tennessee

    …”Trumpeters Hollyn Slykhuis and Abby Temple, along with pianist and vocalist Erin Henke, visited Lincoln Memorial University on Monday, February 20, to perform a recital as the Chroma Collective. Chroma Collective combines music and art in a way that is engaging and fun for their audiences, whether that happens in a classroom, concert hall, art gallery, or more. They promote historically marginalized composers in their performances, and design programs so audience members find the artist within themselves.”
